Bullying in Healthcare

I was terminated after 17 1/2 years of working for a hospital that I considered my Alma mater. Unknowingly to me I was working with women who were jealous of my skills to do my job. Because I wouldn't cave to their bullying. They got together to create lies about me that they went to the manager and HR. I was never given the chance to grieve the lies that were told on me before being terminated. I was devastated and broken by a system that I thought was fair and just. How could these women get away with the lies told to ruin my life? What ever happened to the investigation to get to the truth? I no longer have faith in Management nor do I have faith in Human Resources. I actually found out that Human Resources are there to protect Management. The employee has no protection.
I was bullied by co-workers, management and Human Resources.

You was there 17 in a half years so there’s something you was doing right first of all by law it says that if your name has been slandered and it makes you feel uncomfortable you can get you a lawyer. That will fight for you and possible boy get your job back. I know suing is a word no one wants to hear but one thing you need to remember is that on every job we have state and federal laws that protect us from he , management and Superviser’s I mean what’s the use of having these laws if we dont utilize them in vitiating like this.

Joyce Lewis, that is such a shame what was done to you after almost 2 decades of your life was spent there. What was the official reason for your termination? Are you union or non? Did you have an Employment Contract ? Your story is my story . i spent 20 years of my best years at a job I loved, Its a long story but on our contruction site after working all winter rumors about Stewards cousin needed one of 3 spots, xcoworker was only on my jobsite for winter she was going back to her jobsife with not much OT. My jobsite had plenty of OT so she wanted to stay, the other spot had Judge Caprios couisin so Wendy figured it would deff be her movex, so instead she made a statement to Safety about me, saying i threatened her an she was scared.. So sudenly get aid off. I was told the dot wanted one less worker on payroll , BS I was so sick. Tbe next week his cousins in my spot , Last year I was told the truth about my xfriend xcoworker she destroyed my life, no one ever investigated or asked me what happened, i stead its kept. Secret so I cant defend my self

I am so sorry for both of you. I was an RPN for12 years. I too loved my job,. I was a visiting nurse and everyday was an adventure. I soon learned though that in nursing it seems we pull each other down rather than push each other up. The things I heard about myself were apalliing and complete lies. If I did half of the crap the few nurses said of me, I would be Wonder Woman goes to the dark side. I came up witte mindset that Nurses are Bitches. Sorry, but it felt that way. I still hold my head up high and you should too! You were the best at what you did or else they wouldnt have got rid of you. Bitches.

First and foremost, and never have faith in anything other than God, secondly you need a team of expert lawyers to read your case right along with eeo complaints if you already haven't left.

It's amazing I come to this because I was just telling someone else about negative energy it kills the morale to do good work,,,,it's not knowingly done,,it's something that is done in our behavior,,,,we have to learn to do grievances and let our leaders managers whom ever know our issues,,,because that what protects us.

Totally true. HR is not there to protect the worker, HR is there to protect the interest of the company. If you become a liability to the company they will find a way to let you go

It’s true that HR is there for management but they are supposed to be fair. Primarily female workplaces are tough. I’m a former preschool director/teacher and recently experienced injustice. File a charge with the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission. No one should have to work in a toxic environment.
