Talent Acquisition Manager at A W Chesterton Company

Just in the past two days, 75% of the interviews we have scheduled and confirmed for hourly positions at my company have no-call, no-showed the appointment.

I understand that companies have a part to play in this too. However, you don't have to be very good to be better than the folks you're competing against for a job. Showing up seems to be half the battle or more. And if you don't want to show up or think the job is not for you, a simple phone call or text as a courtesy goes a long way.

Employers will remember you, and perhaps reconsider you when something more appropriate comes along. #ghosted #interviews #nocallnoshow #interview

I agree, however, Many companies or hiring managers would ghost a potential employee after an interview or before the interview. This has happened to many peers of mine. Both sides should show professional courtesy, be mindful of people's time and show some etiquette.

There is also the opposite happening. Once someone is interviewed, companies should not ghost them. Especially if you have had 2nd and 3rd interviews

Truth! My husband was laid off at the end of 2019. The company had been bought out and restructured and it didn’t make sense to have two people doing the same work so another employee kept his position because he had been with the company a really long time but my husband was let go. Anyway, now that employee is retiring and so my husband has been called back to work after almost 2 years. The last impression you leave on people can matter as much as the first and can continue to matter and be remembered for years.

When receiving calls from your company the person never states who they work for what company is hiring that they are calling about, Leaving you in the dark. Also the repeating notifications, about jobs that are irrelevent or pay way under what I have expressed to them that I will accept.

Hello. This is not to be judgmental, but, when all of the recruiter job boards that I receive available jobs from repeatedly send the very same job postings day after day, that send interview requests, whereas I have NOT received a single actual interview request from a Recruiter Job Board. I spend hour upon hour going through, maybe a hundred Recruiter emails a day for available work, having to go to sometimes two or more website pages, to view advertised jobs to be filled when the recruiters already have a Resume that I have submitted. And, it seems that employers are trying to fill multiple positions by hiring a single individual to fill multiple positions for fairly low wages. It is sad to see that everyone wants to place blame on someone else, and not review and resolve the real problems in the employment situation/problems of today. Respectfully. David Ward

I've kind of hit a wall on this issue if I can't make an interview it's for a good reason but one I'm hesitant to give because I never got the job once I give it. They reschedule but have already judged and decided before I get there, and I'm a terrible liar I refuse to make something up.

Works both ways. People take their time to get to an interview to already be judged by the others before or lashed out at cuz they are short handed. Then after sitting through all that in an interview and thinking it goes well no call back either way. Just bc u are the employer and we the prospect employee doesn’t mean we don’t deserve a call back to let us k is that we aren’t chosen. Respect for the employee and employer. Phones work both ways. Emails too. Don’t feel bad for u at all.

I have to agree with Nancy about this issue. I know that I am qualified for the positions I responded to. I have 5 letters of recommendations from board certified Doctors I have worked with, as well as all.of their personal contact information ( personal.cell phone # email address etc. I was delighted and beeming with pride when I became the recipient of such as honor.Hospials that had a setting I was completely comfortable and capable to provide excellent care and support for our patients. That is something I am beyond grateful for. When I have e mailed , faxed and called to see if they are even interested in performing my skil set or simply listening . I always end up with a job offer that has come 1 month late. Which is far to late as I have accepted another position..
