@Marquese Gates landed a new job as a staffing specialist to help ppl find jobs. It’s an amazing opportunity to CONNECT with him and COMPLETE your profile so your new contact gets a better chance of your skills and interests to recommend any good match. There are a couple ways to initiate a professional connections online:
- Introduce yourself in a sentence or two about your experiences and professional goals
- Ask SPECIFIC questions about particular job requirements or application steps
- Ask about other career advice such as company recommendations or suggestions for additional contacts to build
You can do these on Jobcase through COMMENTING and MESSAGING! Always remember to FOLLOW UP and THANK YOU as the professional courtesy for both online and in person networking.
What are your tricks to do networking in real life vs. online?
Thanks Appreciate that promise looking forward for your assistance
I hate to waste your time and mine I been going to different recruiters and staff agencies and I still can't get a job I do all they ask me to but my background doesn't come back if u can get me a job guarantee start like yesterday sign me up but if I have to do a background check agine that just take me two steps back can't do that
There are SO MANY great members on Jobcase who are willing to help with job leads and career advice. I constantly learn new things for these great connections I made!
I also use the ppl search on Jobcase and LinkedIn to look up anyone who work for the company I want to apply to. It's a great tip to dig more info about specific employers and expand your network.
I think the vetting process is still very important when making a professional connection online. Check their profiles carefully and see if it matches across all online searches. It seems easy but always be careful!
It's not easy to make that first step but it's definitely worth it. I find ppl much more open to online and LEGITIMATE connection nowadays under the pandemics. It actually save a lot more time around scheduling to meet up for coffee or showing up at an event. But it's a great and EFFICIENT way to expand your network and boost your job search.
