Be confident, organized, knowledgeable. You need to have a passion for food industry/customer service or forget it. I've been doing food for 30+ yrs. It's in the heart
Study the menu for the place u are applying for knowing what they serve is very important. In most places I have started in food prep and the faster u catch on there the faster u can move into a line position and pay close attention to the way they prepare things uniformity in production is key to return business and always be professional.
Carry some of your work with you.. recipes that you have created or helped me... ensure to let three know that you are a team player and share with them situations in which you acted as such.. cause it’s really not just about being a cook they want to know that you can create harmony in the workplace.
All the best.
