It will not grow you a career or help you to grow one. Working a cashier job is the means to knowledge and what you choose to do with that knowledge, is what will grow your career. However, to answer your question in short; a cashier's job teaches you skills such as, accounting, credit processing, ability to make deposits, address pricing and any if issues. That same job teaches interactive skills. You learn how to listen, equipment training, even insider knowledge training. You learn to read ppl, you learn to speak clear, you're taught to play nice in this world. Every job you have in life is a building block to your career,. So make every job a learning experience no matter what the job. Above all, always treat yr job with respect

Edwin if the company is part of a chain. That can be your career. Working your way up. If the company isn't part of a large corporation. Then you should be using that time as a cashier to network!! You make your career.
