I have trouble holding a job because I am a woman. I have actually been turned away from day labor due to gender. I was a great worker. Can I get unemployment for it?

I just got edged out of a job. I was the oldest one on this job. Boss said she needed someone good with electronics. She hired a young guy and bought him a computer. The desk I sat at for 5 years was now his and she didn't hesitate to tell me that every day. She put me in a room with no windows or a phone. Every duty I had was his--phone answering, greeting people the door, getting the main and putting it away. I also helped with serving and clearing at meals and talking and solving problems of our clients. Then she gave the room I was using to her new hire. I asked where I was to sit and was not given a straight answer. I couldn't take any more and I quit. I feel like a new person not being involved with her or the job. Definitely age discrimination.

Single hv sent out my resume nothing as yet very sad and frustrating.

I had the perfect job b4 this pandemic. I can only work the houra my child is in school (9-2) My shift was actually mon-fri 10-2 & I had lots of regulars and made good tips. (Bartending) Since then the business has closed permanently. I am now unable to find anything willing to hire me given the honesty i provide upon interview to avoid wasting anyone's time. Rather than being that person who says "im available anytime anyday" then begin requesting time off all the time. Anyway, my family and I are so far behind now with just his income we are broke the day he gets paid and struggle to make ends meet. Any thing out there someone is aware of please notify me please!!

I believe it. Although using the pandemic to see who has been hit harder is kinda unfair don't ya think? Singles Dads have it hard. See it all the time on tiktok. Same with single women and same with single household families, all on tiktok. I'm very thankful I don't have kids in school. We have all been hit hard. I just think we should focus on how we can help each other bounce back.

Unfortunately, this has been an issue before the pandemic.
