Currently employed at travel center of america looking for better pay.

I ended up in Reno Nevada from Sacramento and found myself living in my vehicle. I finally got a job and now have my own place and a steady income. I was about to give up several times. It's hard getting a job when you live in your vehicle. #motivation #successstory #advice

Front Desk Clerk at Travelodge Hotel

All the time the struggle is real. My situation was similar. . Lost my mom, then two months later lost my job of 8.5 years, then a year later lost my house, and 10 months later lost my Traverse. Then the Pandemic. . . managed to stay in a Hotel/homeless program, then moved to Travelodge, asked if they were hiring front desk, got that to help offset expenses. Worked a few temp gigs throughout, bought a car, and this is all minimum wage!!! I just signed off on my offer letter for a job making $9 MORE an hour!!! Great benefits. But sometimes, God needs us to get out of our own way so can get his work done through us! I just kept working this dead-end minimum wage job, and just sort of existing for the time being. And when I say there is a time for everything! THERE IS A TIME FOR EVERYTHING! One night at work, I pulled myself up to the computer brought up indeed and went to work! I watched my phone, answered all calls, checked emails (because some people don't realize, that IT'S A JOB TO GET A JOB)! Interviews started coming in, and I started setting them up. In one week, I had 6 interviews! And every day I approached it just as I would going to work. Put on my professional gear, and professional swag of course :) and was off and running! So - I said all of that to say this, this was already mapped out for you. Keep at it, and never lose faith! Instead of reiterating our plight in our existence, change it up some, add some rainbow to it! and start believing and speaking on change! I got sick of believing this was it for me! I knew better, I had done it time and time again, and really take an emotional inventory and believe that! I'm bigger than this messed up set of circumstances. So, the best of luck to you! Cause you got this!!!! You just forget to believe it at times!

You have strength and fortitude. I admire you for your confidence and your ability to sustain yourself. Living in a vehicle must be hard, but you did it. You give hope and demonstrate that it can be done! I take my hat off to you. Be safe.
