I worked for the city of Port St Lucie, Fla. as a project manager in the facilities department, I was terminated in month 8 of a 9-month probation period by a micromanaging narcissistic boss who is being protected by the city manager. This boss in question has lost 14 seasoned employees in 4 years due to his inability to perform as a actual manager, that's not counting the new hires that quit within 3 months, (if they only told you this on the interview) and he has a list of complaints (entire dept. went to HR) that should be logged in HR that have gone nowhere. Whereas I have NO HR incidents and I was not given my 3- and 6-month performance reviews to justify any actions, good or bad. I was given No reason for this wrongful termination other than it's in the best interest of the city, I have kept documentation on all of my projects since day one to back up my ability and workload. I sent a professionally written letter depicting the situation to the mayor and HR but yet nothing was done about it. This is such a frustrating situation to see a lousy manager making 120k a year and costing the taxpayers thousands of dollars in on-boarding costs per year be protected, I really liked working for the city in general and I planned to stay until retirement, life goes on and once again the little guy gets screwed. #terminated
