Customer Service Team Manager and COO. Service and Solutions

@Heaven Nolove

1- Try to see what you learned or could showcase from that period out of formal work.. If you can come up with 3 cool things you learned, sharpened during that time it can be very useful. It doesn't have to be hard skills, it can also be soft skills.

2- Add online classes and volunteer to match your future job search.

There are some truly great classes that are just 3-6 weeks and give certification: look for https://www.edx.org https://www.udemy.com

3 - Start an activity for a few weeks where you'd be doing the tasks you'd find in a future job, If it's customer service, you can start a meetup around something you really enjoy and later you'd showcase how yopu handled participants, organization, details, marketing etc.

4- Downplay it all you can with dates. Frankly, if you are seeking a rather simple role in customer service or retail many companies do not take the time to check and verify references. Just be sure you are updated with new stuff, maybe PC skills, Chat gpt, payment methods etc. Points 2 and 3.

Best Luck!!

@Heaven Nolove Not everyone has to work for a company so no need to be ashamed. But this puts you back in the entry-level category if you’re out of work for 6+ months. I recommend getting certified for a career that’s in high demand for people. The health care field is definitely growing non-stop, you might want to consider starting off by getting certified to be a CNA than work your way up.

Don't list dates. Focus on skills and years of service, promotions, awards, certs, knowledge... Think it's skill based format not chronological. Templates in Word.

Start with not being ashamed. Move on to being confident in yourself, and create a simple answer for the time you are concerned about. Pandemic is easily a good reason, before that maybe you were traveling or taking care of loved ones. It doesn't matter these days like it did pre- covid. You'll be fine

@Heaven Nolove Hello Heaven, here is a list of things you might consider:

•Be honest.

•Don't include your entire work history.

•Downplay smaller gaps by leaving out the month.

•Explain employment gaps in your cover letter.

•Highlight what you did accomplish while out of work.

Hope this helps and good luck 👍🏼
