Cashier Stocker at Harris Teeter

I worked for a company for over 20 years and was let go when they lost significant clients (about 250,000) They rehired me a year later at the same pay as any new person. The woman who handled firing people had a grudge against me and i LITERALLY have no clue why. So for 5 months i minded my P's and Q's..early back from break and made NO mistakes. Then I got sick with covid. I was told i had to come in with 103 degree fever and i did so but could barely stay conscious..my lips were blue and i went straight back to the doctor the next morning and was written out another week and Dr. wanted me hospitalized but i knew it would be used against me so i declined it. Even when i came back as i had still not recovered I had problems focussing. I was fired promptly with me not being able to explain a thing.

Yes to the test but it was the antibodies as it was when covid first hit and we weren't as advanced yet

It feels like such an insult because it was right when covid had started..so no tests were done for it. I had to get my antibodies checked 3 mo's later and they said I was positive..I wanted to sue but they are so prominent in My town I would have to go out of town for a lawyer

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I know I contracted the virus at work, as well.

You should still contact cdc. Even in a fire & hire at will state they can not break the law to fire you. Get verification from your Dr. And take your pay stubs as proof and go to the unemployment office. Then she for lost wages, court cost and attorney fees.

so you had covid and they wanted you to come to work. you should have contacted the cdc and reported them. did you have a positive test for covid that they new of or that you presented to them before that day. you should have gotten a note from that doctor you saw. you were to have a two week quarentine .

your health is worth more then any job. if you were to have died then it all would have been for nothing. I know you were in fear of loosing it, i do not know if you had informed your employer to begin with. i think you were afraid to say or do anything based on your problems with that woman. good luck take care.
