Uncomfortable Interview

I went to an interview last week. There were two people doing the actual interviewing. One of them was very nice and smiled while asking the questions. The other person made the interview extremely uncomfortable. They cut me off during some answers and just seemed really snappy with the questions. It was like they didn't want to be there. I asked some of the other applicants that were there, and they said the same thing about their interview. Anyone ever gone through this during an interview?

Yes my son actually had this happen to him that's what makes a lot of people not want to work for people because some of them are extremely rude

Happens to me as well, I just say I'm not interested and leave. I don't want to associate with employers like that.

It was an ad hoc "stress test" of sorts to see how you deal with varying circumstances and people, and they probably have discreetly placed video surveillance monitoring in the interview AND in the waiting area! Other job applicants may have been undercover employees who were also evaluating your character and fundamental personality traits. Believe it, this is happening.

Oh yes,I've actually been treated as though I was out of my league, and I wasn't even spoken to with respect. I was prejudged and categorized before I opened my mouth. I get that alot of the people applying for the skilled labor positions might be out of their skillset and may be trying to slide in,but I'm not that one. I'm am an engineer with 20+ years experience and currently attending college for my bachelor's in business management.

Hi, I agree with Herman. I am a Chemical Engineer with over 23 years of experience. Sometimes, that could happen if you have more experience than the hiring manager. In one case, I was very mortified because she was not letting me answer, she expected for me to have experience in an specific activity that only if I had work for them or the competition, I would have. After not being able to answer by her constant attitude of cutting me off, I decided not o try anymore because I knew her background. Her BS was not from USA, she had a Master Degree (not very impressive to me) and she had less years of experiences than me. At the end of the interview, she asked me if I had any questions. Well, I asked her the same question that I did a few days before to the Human Recourses Manager (phone interview)... Why is the position open? She started to state that previous person in the position was leaving Florida because a daughter never got used to the school system. At that time, my daughter was ten years old and I already evaluated schools and saw their reviews... I am not sure why but she got mad at me because her excuse was let's call it an excuse... She started to say that she was still in contact with the previous person who decided that no school in that Florida area was "good". School or Boss... that is the QUESTION.

Anthony. I have been to about 7 interviews in a few weeks. Horrible. Very unprofessional on their part. You are NOT alone. One interview I had 6 people in the room with me. it was so ridiculous it wasn't funny. it was like they were ganging up on me. Very uncomfortable.
