Yes, there is age discrimination out there with employers. I've performed many jobs plus being a nurse. I'm willing to take almost any job at this point to help with my overhead, but been having problems. They don't ask age, they now ask when you graduated from high school. If it's too many years back, you get hung up on. Even, continuating school for brush-u. Was told age 60 was the limit according to the guidelines. All is not right!

Goodness, Iā€™m so sorry to hear that @SHARON HODGSON. My wonderful colleague, @Ashley Wilson wrote a great article about ageism. Has some good advice in there, take a look! https://www.jobcase.com/articles/c47f1750-35c0-46ed-a233-a1c8b8e30b15

I agree with what you are saying, I worked a lot of years and have been pushed aside due to age, however recently i find it turning due to covid-19 and other things. I have had some of those companies contact me for consulting rather than being an employee because of health insurance issues which I understand. What i have found works is I combat age with years of experience, and if that does't work for them then I don't want work there anyway. Good Luck in your hunt and keep trying. www.freelancers.com

I read the article and it was good. I have to agree with Sharon. Showing all your experience and age means a larger salary. Most companies do not want to pay for your expertise so you don't get the job. That's been my experience anyway. 16 years making 23 an hour and had to settle for 10 to make ends manageable.

Ain't that the truth. So sad that they don't want true experience they want diploma after diploma after diploma and then they don't get paid crap some in the same boat I would take almost anything now it's so sad I still have not gotten any benefits and I've been out of work since February of this year.

Oh no wonder they are asking that question about the graduation year of high school!
