Semi (or less) Retirement

Hello. Currently a 23 year employee of a large law firm. Love and respect my immediate bosses, however, COVID let me know how much I loved working from home. My current hours are 30 per week, but am driving 1 hour round trip. I'm looking to retire in a year or two but would still like to have some involvement in the outside world. Most definitely want to work remotely, I have high speed internet and newer computer system. I would like my newer hours to be 20/week. #workfromhome #interview #advice #jobsearch #administration #clerical

Hi @Jan Portman , welcome to the community! So, are you looking to leave your job now or are you planing for post retirement? Is your current employer unable to accommodate your remote work and schedule preferences?

In either case, I believe we can help! Please take a moment to upload your resume onto your Jobcase Profile or use the resume builder option to create your new optimized resume.

You can find resume building and new job search tips on our Getting Hired Resource Center

We will use your profile information to match you up with new job leads and local hiring opportunities that match your previous work experience, skills, and career goals.

Also, share some more new job preferences with us if you're thinking about a different job path. Thanks!

Went on job interview with local car dealership. This would have been the THIRD interview. But on this 3rd interview, I was told the job was no longer available because the person had "decided" not to take a new job or could not transfer within the company. I really believe that during the week, while waiting for the 3rd appt., that someone was able to "google" me and see what my age is! And believe me, I look 20 years younger than my age. Nothing to do but just move on.

I'm a survivor of DV, my children abducted due to ignorance of secondary. I survived and I look for work with law and mental health to better adoptions from sibling rivalry.

I think someone older is better because they want to work and I was seeing that also and I never understand that because the younger people don't want to work in one place that long

If a person has felonies, what company will hire them to get a job to work from home? When applicant indicates they have felonies, they are booted off the website. Advice, please.

Maybe would be the time to find the sites that allow work form home and create your own hours.

Don’t leave… You can work at home and take off part of the utilities on your taxes. Try to find your passion and do it.

You shouldn’t have a problem finding something with your experience of computer skills. Good luck!
