Jobs for felons???

Is there a website specifically where I can just look at jobs for felons? Or does anybody have any advice on that? I am a recovering addict and have been sober for a year and a half and Don’t really have any skills or experience with much of anything because of my past but I’m a very quick learner highly intelligent detail oriented and a people person. #felony #jobsearch #advice

Hello Melinda, it depends on the state you are living in? Here in Oregon I worked for a year with a Grant from Daves Killer bread to educate employers on benefits of hiring adults with backgrounds. The employers here in Oregon get a Tax credit for hiring a Felon wittin the first 2 years of being released from Prison. You might contact 211 in Colorado if that is where you are living and ask about felon friendly employers, Good luck, let me know if you need encouragement or someone to listen, been there!

I am a felon as well and I have great people skills, I have done a lot of hotel front desk work and that is what I’m really looking forward to and again want to further my career by going to night classes if possible. Please help?

It really depends on the state! Most employers like myself get a earn taxed credit so I hire felons within reason! Go to your local unemployment office and they will give you a list of all people that hire felons!

I know in NY there are bulletin boards and binders at the courthouse with URL links stating who will hire felons. Go to your local library or federal offices that specializes in helping people find work to find out.

I’m in the same boat! Like why should our past have to do with today and forward when we already paid the dues! I’ve been clean 5 yrs now my last job lasted almost 3 years. I’m a fast learner and fast paced. At my last place I cought on really fast and was able to do the whole station myself when they had others that had been there 5 10 yrs and couldn’t do what I did. A lot of bussiness pass up good workers because of backgrounds! They need to revise everything that has to do with a felony!!! But there’s not a lot we can do but try to prove our selfs if given the chance!!! Best of luck you got this.
