My response for why I want to work at a place I usually answer with is because I want to work at a place where the staff is happy as are the guests, a place I feel welcome at . I go to work in a good mood I like to leave the same way. I go to work bust my butt and go home I’m beyond the age of playing games.

I one time had a customer smack my arm and demand coffee while I was carrying a hotpot of coffee and while everything in me wanted to pour the entire pot of coffee on her I kindly told her I would be with her momentarily as I was serving my other tables. While I did make her wait her turn because, even though I had it in my hand I would not give into her demands but I was also not going to treat her the way she treated me because I was taking the higher road. My boss was watching me the entire time I never knew it but he told me how proud of me he was. This was a Sunday morning breakfast service at that.
Always dress professionally I don’t care what the position is you will NEVER see me walk into an interview with jeans. You dress for the manager position always even if it’s for a dish position it doesn’t matter it shows that you have a sense of self worth and pride in your appearance.
I took ownership of the problem and assured the customer I was the person to do it. I calmed the customer down!
