the best way to evaluate a company is while hired. If you find it is not the place you want to be long term then find another role, but in the mean time you have a community that you can leverage.

I flip through the web page of any prospective company, before applying, to see if I can get a feel for their products and attitudes. Would they mesh with my own ideas? Would I feel comfortable enough to want to put my best efforts into working for them?
