Shady situation

A little background got into IT 3 years ago from years of being the good ole boy construction and always doing side work non stop physical work. No computer knowledge and seriously none lol. Got a job at Fort Bragg and loved it learned a lot from great guys. Installing data and analog/voice lines, configuring and trouble shooting Cisco switches. Obtained Sec+,BIAS,and CCENT while there in two years. Made a resume and showed my friend I've...

Should I start looking for something else?

I landed an amazing position and work with some great people about 4 months ago. It's a newly created position where I'm independent and basically in charge of my remote area. For the first four months, my departmental boss (the chief officer) was "out-of-sight/out-of-mind". When I interviewed for the job and on my orientation day (which was also the last time I physically saw my boss), he told me that this location was "my show" and that he...

Dallas, go with your gut. Deep down, ask your gut what is it trying to convey to you. The answer is there.

2-weeks Notice "I APPRECIATE ALL RESPONSES"

Here's the thing about a two weeks notice "It Is The Norm". I'm not the NORM! Respect to all. When you been at a job for moored then two years it's because it's pays the bills, you're actually happy there, or you're waiting for something better to come along. All are FINE W/U!

Leaving your mark in the world starts with the little things, the small jobs, thorough responses and respect in what you do! Desperation leads the majority of us to...

At Will Employment

I was "let go" from a job one morning when I came into work. The manager told me "I have to let you go". When I asked why he said Oregon is an At Will Employment state and he does not have to give me any reason. I asked him if it had anything to do with my work performance and he said the same thing - Oregon is an At Will Employment state. To this day, two months later, I do not know why I was let go. Is there anything I can do to find...

UPS Mail Prosser

It's my opinion that employers would rather employ younger workers, however if they give you a chance to work, it's your responsibility to prove yourself. You will need to produce or improve, or your job will be passed on to someone who can do the job.

I am a licensed Spanish teacher in the State of Tennessee. In fact I have English and ESL also and a Master's.

I believe the problem is due to the healthcare laws they don't want to hire me. I do not take meds or anything but I am falling in the blanket category of over 50. I believe the poor treatment I received while working did not help. I was not evaluated sometimes. I moved to this area and was over 40. I did not get tenure anywhere. I would love to teach and would take anything, even a bad school. I couldn't be treated worse. I believe the...

Who's getting laid-off?

How do managers decide who they are going to lay off when a company decides to downsize? The company I work for is making changes this year beginning with an employee reduction in my department. No one has been notified yet but I want to try to get ahead of the layoffs and try put myself in a position to be able to keep my job but I don’t want to kiss anyone’s butt either. I’ve heard these decisions are usually based on seniority and job...

Clinical laboratory technologist

I have a history of always getting a great annual performance review. There was a new supervisor hired, and she now continually puts on my interview that I need to improve in teamwork. I always help any one who asks, and I always help others when I see they can use a hand. However, doing all this help has left me with repetitive motion injuries and I had to slow down due to the problem. I no longer rotate to different areas of operation...

Have a meeting with your supervisor ask her what she means by improving on teamwork.
