I’m a 57 year old man with 33 years of supervisory and managerial skills. I’ve ran companies alone, and owned and operated two businesses. My deal was that I liked working with people, and have applied to many companies. Only to be told that they have decided to proceed with other candidates, only to find out that they were much younger than I. I wasn’t asking for 70-100k a year as they were probably were thinking, just a job so that I could get... see more

This post can be taken for what it is worth it could be both of frustration, me being naive or simply jaded. I was in the military for almost 5 years granted this is completely different than the civilian world but based on experiences of varying work ethics and morals my standards may be judged based off of my military experience especially since it was my first job ever. I was wondering why it takes so long to get employed by the federal government?
I was a Fed Govt contractor before the furlough. My boss asked me to sign a Non compete for 2 years - right smack dab in the middle of this shutdown....or not renew my contract. What was I to do??? I havent made a cent not one penny since the shutdown and I have 30 years in my industry....so why kick someone when they are already down...how am I to feed my family, work , pay my bills...so I told her I wasn't going to sign it....I needed to work... see more
Hello All, my post is mainly for the individuals involved in the Government shutdown, as I read over the comments and entries, I am reminded that we all go through something, but this support makes it easier and I’m thankful for that.
I'm a teacher that is what I do Best. On Monday Dec 17th, they terminated my employment saying that I was not a good match for what they were looking for. I've been teaching math and science, English ESL & French FSL for almost 12 years without any complaints!!! I always had students with either ADD H trouble or with the Asperger Syndrome. It was a private school and they wanted near perfect scores for all students. Basically ''cosmetic'' A & B... see more

Now we've got to refer to the law of supply and demand. When supply is high and demand is low, prices drop... see more
