Hey Troy, Welcome to jobcase - love the attitude! As a start what can you do to doctor up your profile a bit? Have you had any jobs yet to include? What about volunteer gigs (sometimes what you have achieved volunteering can show employers the value you might bring even better than past work experience). Also we include the praise buttons - dirt simple, just click and well send a message to friends/family, past coworkers, teachers, etc. who will support you. People with lots of praises tend to get looked at and considered more by prospective employers than not. Anyways - we have some simple tools that might show you in better light and its always accessible with a few taps on your phone for whenever you run into somebody who knows of an opportunity for you to send it off to. In the meantime, best way to find opportunities is to 1) set up some informational interviews with people who are doing things that you think look interesting. Asking them to meet to give you some advice about what they do and how you might get on a similar path is something that most people will respond favorably to, and you never know where it might lead. The other thing is to reconnect with people who might point you in a good direction (any teachers, ministers, others). Finally, if there aren't many prospects and your trying to figure out the right road - I do suggest figuring out a good place to volunteer (special olympics, boys club, etc.). First this will really help you stay positive because your time will be spent in such a constructive way, second its a great place to meet people who probably have lots of connections in their day jobs that might help you out in your discovery too.

Hope this helps, just shooting from the hip here which is a bit tough on a very open question. But overall its an exciting time for you. It'll all be good and you've got right attitude and objectives. Just try to narrow them in a bit through an active discovery process over next couple months. Once its a clearer focus - I bet lots of other Jobcasers can start to help find the right connections for you! Good luck and thanks for being part of the community! Fred

Volunteering makes your resume look AMAZING!!

Right now Houston is in need for volunteers after the devastation of Harvey. Hiring managers LOVE to see you have selflessly given your time to a cause. It shows you are committed, you care, and most importantly you want to make a difference! Here is a [great site] (https://voad.communityos.org/disaster-volunteer-registration) where you can register and even choose what you would like to do to assist the Houston community. They will need volunteers today, tomorrow, and even months and months from now. Make sure to register to volunteer if you are nearby! We also know that not everyone lives in the Houston area, but that doesn't mean you can't volunteer in your own community! Use the 4 steps below to find a volunteer opportunity near you.

1.Click on “Jobs & Companies” at the top of the page 2.Enter the word "volunteer" into the search field that says "Job title" 3.Click on the blue button to search for that position in your area 4.Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.

Thank you for thinking of others!

I am a 3D printing expert and industrial designer looking for work and opportunities.

I am looking for work in the industry. Welling to relocate to other parts of the US. Willing to relocate to some places outside of the USA. I have a design degree and an MBA. Wrote for the 3d printing industry for now defunct website, Inside3DP.com. Helped others who wanted to enter the industry with tech recommendations and business consulting.

Then I have some major design chops too. You can look at my designs here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskHn3sdR

You Create your own Opportunities

Most people wait for the right opportunity to come. Whether it's for a job, a better position that pays more money, the right man or woman, or to start something new.

So, does the opportunity ever come? Sometimes it does, but sometimes it doesn't.

-It might not come at the right time -We might not recognize it -We might not be ready for it -When it eventually appears, we might not be interested in it anymore.

When you passively wait for something to happen. You're daydreaming and I ask you why not go beyond the dream? Why become disappointed and unhappy because nothing happens?

YOU CAN AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOURSELF Sometime it's not about creating them but becoming aware of when a opportunity arises. They are in front of us at times but we do not recognize them. In order to see and recognize an opportunity, first you must change your mindset.

I read a book about successful people and they use laws to create things they want. Here's how they get it.

So how do you create and recognize opportunities?

You need to define what is it you want. If you don't know, how can you get it?

Visualize your goal as already accomplished. Feel it and enjoy it. This can be a motivation tatic to help you feel energized to make it real. When you feel a positive energy, you will see opportunities you haven't seen before. Your newfound sense of enthusiasm just might open new doors for you.

Say you want a new job and you don't believe you will find one. Well this attitude will block your mind and hold you back from the opportunities in front of you. When certain opportunities become available, you must believe that you will find one, that you are expected to find it. Could be an online job board, newspaper ad or from a friend.

You can create opportunities for almost anything with the right attitude and right frame of mind

Shape your life to get what you want with positive thoughts and the right mental attitude!!
