Last night I found out a favorite relative of mine passed away. But instead of calling into work, I go in with my relative’s obituary. First I’m promised to be given an answer about getting time off by 1130 am. First lie. I don’t get an answer until 20 minutes before my shift is over. An obituary isn’t enough anymore, not even with the name and phone number of the person who runs the funeral home. I now have to have a pamphlet from the funeral... see more

I’ve been with a company for 4 1/2 years as a manager. I’ve been harassed most of my time working there. I’ve had false complaints made about me. I’ve worked in a hostile work environment. So I made a complaint to hr. After that my dr took me off work for a medical condition. They day I come back they put me on paid leave to conduct the investigation. And then I’m told I’m being terminated. How is this possible? If I didn’t complain and never... see more

I took a job at an optometrist office a couple years ago and was the only male employee. I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn some new skills and I enjoy working with the public overall. Within two months it turned into a nightmare. One of the girls Facebook stalked me and found out that I had several gay friends and that one is HIV+. She proceeded to tell everyone in the office that I was gay and I myself was HIV+, neither of... see more

I've been sexually harassed all my life ina all the jobs i ever had. I thought when i got older it would stop but it hasn't. I got laid off my good paying job because i wouldn't go out with any of my bosses. I learned to live with it. Im a woman working in a man's job. Now I've been without a job for 8 months and its driving me crazy. I still dont give up. I know I'll find something. I stay positive.

So, yes, as bad as it sounds, this actually happened.
I was employed a little over a month for a hotel, (privately owned), where the working conditions were not great by any means, but I was getting more than my share of hours so I wasn't gong to complain.
A little insight, I would arrive for my shift 7:30am and work straight through until 7pm most days, no breaks, no days off, no joke.
On top of this, although I had completed all necessary... see more

I would call OSHA and the EOC also get you a good lawyer. I'm so sorry you went through that.

It would not be worth your time at this time. While I worked at Shop Rite I was harassed continuously by an old black man that worked there for years after I reported his sleazy self to management they covered up for him and enabled him to screw with me. I was them retaliated against by all members of management being written up numerous times, being verbally disrespected to my face and behind my back, I had my hours cut, they switched my shift... see more
