I wish I could find a job that is not on one of these idiotic freelance work sites. I have never had any luck with them. Yet that seems to be the only places to get jobs I am even qualified for. In my experience lot of the jobs are bids to the bottom. As in lowest bidder gets the job. That means no work for me. As they go to people who live in areas with low cost of living. #Frustrating. #freelance #gigs #art #artist #contentwriting

So after 13 months of unemployment and applying to over 2000 applications, I finally got myself a freelance job at a publishing agency so I will be designing book covers for authors! The best part is, it’s a remote job so I can work at home!

In addition, I may get hired from a full time on site designer job next week as my first interview went well and now I have to see the owner.

I've been drawing, painting, and even picked up digital sketching. Art has been my life as long as I can remember. I love it so much and this runs in my family. I've always dreamed of becoming a comicbook/webcomic artist. But after working at other places and positions that had nothing to do with it... I just feel like giving up this dream and just stick to a 9-5 :( I don't want to.. but it's just the way it is.

Though, I still desperately still... see more

Heres an interesting quick read on a recent study on freelancing. I am curious of your thoughts.

The part that sticks out to me (based on so many Jobcasers experiences we see) is this sentence; ..42% of freelancers agree that freelancing gives them the flexibility they need because they are unable to work for a traditional employer because of personal circumstances..

So what do you think about this study and article? On target? Off base... see more
