I have had three interviews with the same company but I have a feeling they are messing with me. The first and second were same day, HR then was sent to clinic manager everything was good so far. Then I get a call to interview with general manager (#3), was told to get drug screen and b/g check. But HR said to come back another day for that, when I go back HR is in a meeting "all day" so the unit secretary said she would call when she can get me back in for final interview. I know they haven't filled position because it's still on the we boards. So? I'm going on other interviews but should I wait for the call?
So this might be a month or two old but my job has hired me through the company making 13$ an hour. I got hired on through the company until I dislocated my shoulder I was told to take a drug screen I go they told me my results there in which I was clean go back to work give me my badge back and a week later I failed.? I don't get it because I'm going to the navy I've been for a year but just was working to much I couldn't do anything
Could someone explain to me, why would Human Resource have you take a drug test and a physical with their company doctor. Is this a standard procedure in hiring someone?
Do the applicant coming to the amazon when today held at the embassy suites between 9am-4pm have to do a drug screen today ?

One of THE biggest obstacles to getting a job is drug use. A friend of mine was a chief engineer at Bell Helicopter. They needed to hire 50 engineers for a special project. They posted the job openings, brought in their candidates, narrowed the field, and selected their 50 finalists. They sent them for their pre-employment drug screen and 45 out of the 50 failed the drug test. These were college educated professionals.
I interviewed at Union Pacific Railroad in 2004. They did group interviews with anywhere from 40 to 60 candidates at a time. The HR rep told us, "You will be tested for drugs. If you have anything in your system, and you will know if do, then get up and leave the room now. You have NOT failed a drug test at this point. The record will simply show that you declined to be interviewed at this time. You can reapply later. If you test positive, you will never work for UP or any railroad ever. All positive tests must be reported to the NTSB. "
Then what he said next floored me. He said, "We've had people in these group interviews in the past and have had every single person in the room get up and leave."
Folks, you have to be ready to go to work. Get yourself clean and stay that way. You can pump your fist and stomp your feet and declare that marijuana should be legalized all you want. And you'll still be unemployed because employers won't hire you if you test positive. Alcohol is legal. You can't drive drunk or show up for work blitzed. Even in states where it's legal, you're closing the door to the majority of jobs if you insist on smoking dope.
My best friend got me fired for refusing drug test i got injured off the job and missed 2 days of work i had told my friend which he was my lead man that i got hurt on the way home from work, I was on a contract job and had no insurance, I pulled my back and couldnt walk. So I gor medical attention on my own terms and let my lead man know that Im a need a couple days off, he told me I need to be there asap. So I let him know that if Im not back to work within those 2 days I needed off to take his own actions and do what they got to do. As I rested he text me and told me he filed a injury report, Now how can he file a injury report I had never gave him nor did he know how or what my injury was, at that It wasnt on the job site, So how can he file a injury report if I didnt get injured at work. Then he tells me H.R wants me to see the company doctor due to it being policy by the company. Im still resting and I tell him tell H.R I dont need to see a doctor I seen one on my own with my own money that I should be back at work the next day which was my 2nd day that I had asked for. So I return to work, my injury is gone I feel good Im working and an hour before my job is done. They call me in the office and tell me I need to go see the companys doctor to check my back to see if Im ok that its policy. As I arrive to docs offics they ask me what Am I there for, I tell doc they sent me here to get my back checked, Doc responds with, Did you get injured at work, I told him No, He ask me again are u hurt I said No, He said what are u here for, I told him I do not know. He responds with Oh I see herw your here for a drig screen, Tha being said I got really upset and affended becuase I do my job well my attendance was perfect beforw my off the job injury and management can tell anyone my job is well done to perfection No errors, for me to get lied to yet take a drug screen. So I refused and called my lead man and told them whats the drug screen about, he had nothing to say. So I told him I dont feel good Im upset can I go home theres no point of me going back to work a 15 mnt drive after I had punched out before I went to see doc. I told em Im going home I refused the drug screen. He agreed fine see you tomorrow. Next morning HR emails me tells me not to go in saying my lead man told them I quit. So they terminated me for quitting? Does anything here sound like it makes sense to any of you. I loved my job and hurt that my best friend lied and betrayed me and thru me under the bus. When alll these actions where lies and the report he made they wouldnt give me a copy of it , I wanted to see the report I never gave or never got hurt at the job or did he know how I got injured for him to make a non existing report I never made or gave my consent for him to file.
I just recently acquired a job (so i thought) with a timeshare company named "" Bluegreen. I had worked for them in the past and was very happy to be a part of their program again. However after i filled out the application for employment and was told i had the job i had to wait for a pee test email to come so i could get tested pass then start. That email never came. I called everyday for a little less than a week and was told "it should be there tomorrow." this was said every time i called. Then the last time i called i was told the new hires and the rehires were on hold for a couple of days. Again this was after a little less than a week of being told i had the job and waiting on the pee test email. Make sense so far? I finally get a text from the gentelman that hired me saying the program i was hired for was shut down. So no job. what i find upsetting is i stopped looking and appling for jobs during the time i was made to belive i had this position. what im trying to understand is there something wrong with the misrepresentation of having the job? Also, loosing all that time trying to find a job is a huge set back. Can anything be done as in a complaint, a rebuttal or something. does anyone have an answer?
So I got hired for this company and I was required to do a hair follicle drug test where they cut my hair. So I took the test a week ago Monday and today they call me and say the company that did my test doesn't show they have my results or that I came in??? WTH?? Good thin I got a copy of what I signed. So I sent a copy to the lady who called me. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Am I going to have to do this again? I dont want to cut my hair again! If so can I request a pee test instead? Do I have rights??
We had a guy who had a wreck in a company truck and tested positive for drugs. He had worked all week. We denied him his paycheck because of the positive drug test and fired him did this violet any laws
Soooo. Anyone know how companies are reacting to the new Marijuana laws around the country? Will they still not hire you for a positive test?
