Intra Oral Dental Assistant level 2 mature graduate

I am now looking forward to getting back to work after a 5 year hiatus, while raising two teenaged girls. My work here is through, and I look forward to getting back into the community, as I truly am a 'people person'!

I have nearly 20 years dental assisting experience, with many good references thruout the Niagara Region.

Looking forward to hearing from someone looking for a dental assistant in Niagara/ St. Catharines, Ontario.

Surgical Technologist / Surgical Assistant

Hi my name is Stacia and I am a Surgical Technologist and a Surgical Assistant. I have been a,stay at home mother since 2006 and have been out of the workforce except for one or two prn positions. My most recent prn job was in a plastic surgery office that had two operating rooms. The group had five plastic surgeons. I'm looking for something similar or in a outpatient surgery center. Are there any other positions, that I could be applying for with my education and surgical experience which totals at least 20 years?

Medical Assistant

Hello my name is Christina and I have been a stay at home mom for the last 3 years and I have enjoyed every moment that I have with my kids. Although they are now both in school and I need something to do with my time. I am ready to go back to work so that way I can be a rolemodel for my kids and so they can see what going to school and putting your all into everything will get you in life.

Ready for my Second Act

I was a stay at home mom for 24 years before I started working as a private Caregiver 3 years ago. At the first of this year I started considering a more stable position with retirement and benefits. It’s been a long road with 26 applications but I had an interview on the 19th. I feel fairly confident about how it went. Now the wait. I’m 50 but still have a LOT left to offer and I’m ready to build a career!

Hi Amy,

it sounds like you did great on the interview and I hope your skills, acumen, and personality really shined through and that the employer keeps you in the forefront of potential candidates.

I know you mentioned your age, and I know that reading through the posts in this community makes it seem like people 50+ aren't getting jobs because employers are discriminating against older workers.

There are PLENTY of reasons people don't get jobs, and it is easy to assume it is your age when you keep getting turned down. The truth is, employers have so many more candidates form which to choose now with the advent of online applications and resume banks.

The best candidates get hired. Sometimes they are younger and more tech savvy, sometimes they are older/more experienced workers.

I wish you the best and hope that this job comes through and is the start of a great career for you!

Let us know what happens!

Hi Amy

Good Luck on your pursuit of your career. I retired last year after40 year s in patient diagnostic and cancer research. Yesterday i took a full time job in the same field in another company and very excited to put new leaf in my tree if life. I need the 1 year off to take care of things and reasses my path. Here it is. But i had to say it was challenging to get back but was lucky with opportunity. To any one after 60+ years of age. You can come back depending on your expertise and field of specialization. Good Luck!!

Stay at home mom trying to get back into the work force

I’ve been a stay at home mom for 10 plus years now, and now that my children are no longer needing me at home I have been trying to get a part time job just about anywhere at this point because for some reason the 1,000s of job applications I have submitted in the last year not one interview not one response back from anyone! I have really excellent job skills but nobody seems to want to even talk to me after seeing my resume and application I am beginning to think I may never be able to get back into the work force! I’m very discouraged!

Never give up on faith, prayers do work, you need to gi on a fasten and prayer for thirty days and believing with all your mind, body and soul, also receive it. ..Also child care provider, hotels, nursing homes, stay there for three years, make sure to be reliable, punctual, responsible and always on time, 15 minutes earlier than your schedule... Then get yourself something better. You could do it, the devil is a liar. Lol where it's a will, its always a way.

Ms. Amanda: PAY ATTENTION AND READ THIS NOW! Do you know the woman in the picture below? She is Ronda Rousey. Former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. She's seen more hard times in the fighting ring than the average person falling down in a skating ring. Case and point, she didn't give up when the chips were down, rather, she fought her way back to the top! The struggles in life can be like a FIGHT. Therefore, YOU MUST STAND-FIGHT AND WIN! You DON'T GIVE UP, rather, you GET UP and look in the mirror at yourself, and SHAKE IT OFF. Because like Ronda, YOU ARE A CHAMPION! ACTION REQUIRED: #1. Get up. #2. Keep this picture close. #3. Get that rhythm and resume together. #4. Each morning say to yourself..."I Am A Champion" and "I Am A Winner," and "I Won't Give Up, I Won't Give In!!" P.S. Reach out to Matt B or Lenin Pina in the JobCase Community for TIPS. DO THIS! NOW!

Just have to do the best you can if you have a good job you are lucky. Because when you get my age it's hard to get someone to take a chance on you.
