He flipped out on me

My truck broke down last week and the supervisor shows up and tells me it’s MY fault because I did not do a good enough pre-trip. What happened was my other idiot supervisor strapped down a tire onto the catwalk and the strap broke, wrapped around my driveline and then tore up all my airlines. I told her it wasn’t me that did that. She then FLIPS out on me gets in my face and says that she doesn't need my attitude WHAT?!!!. The whole time I tried…

Let me tell you, I also drive a truck for a living (25 years), and I'm sorry to say this but you're wrong for letting ANYONE put…

What Does Memorial Day Mean To You?

Memorial Day is a day full of remembering our loved ones whom we lost who have served - friends, family, fathers, sons, mothers, daughters, brothers & sisters - and on this day, we honor each and every person who made the ultimate sacrifice.

I asked some of us here at Jobcase to share what Memorial Day means to them. Here’s what they said:

Ashley: “To me, Memorial Day is a day for admiration towards those that made the ultimate sacrifice for…

I am in trouble!!

Our house payments are lapsing and I am so scared. My wife is ill and can no longer work. We aren’t making enough to get by with the job I have now and I think we will lose our home in the next 4 months if I don’t act fast. I know it sounds nuts, but what about truck driving? I heard you can make money quickly and we really need it. Can someone please help us? What do I have to do? I’m so lost.

If you are considering trucking check driving for Oilfield companies most water bottle, oil trucks and sandbox haulers are on a…

He went through my personal belongings!!

Last week after passing the scale I was pulled over for a DOT inspection. Figured it was routine when the officer asked if could see the inside of my truck. I got nothing to hide so I said sure. I was not carrying anything I shouldn't, but all of a sudden he starts rifling through my stuff and finds a large plastic cooking knife that was next to a spatula and some seasonings under my seat. I have a microwave in the back and sometimes I cook stuff…

I am so lonely

How does everyone here deal with being away from your families? My husband is gone so much out on long hauls that I feel like our kids are growing up without him. I know he is out there making money for us, but it's fricken HARD being a truck driver's wife. Most of the time I feel like a single parent.

It's a choice a couple has to make. I live in the Atlanta area. traffic now worst in the country. When I'm out at 8 pm I see…

What should I do???

So DOT pulls me over and the guy has a real attitude. He asks me if I know why he pulled me over. I honestly didn’t. I told him I had no clue. He says I must be stupid because I was speeding. I tell him that can’t be right. I knew I wasn’t speeding. Of course no point in arguing with him, but I swear I wasn’t speeding! Now this is likely going to cost me my job because no one is going to want to hire someone who has a ticket on their record. What…

All you needed to do was hit the critical event button on your computer logs. That would have recorded your speed for a few…

How the hell do you all do it?!

I am wondering how you all stay healthy on the road? Ive been a trucker for a while now and I try to exercise when I can and eat better but I usually end up eating crap. Whatever is fast and tastes ok usually is not good for me. I really love my job, but my one fear is I will develop diabetes like my sister and older brother cuz it runs in our family. I don’t want that. HELP! What can I do?

I agree. Eat in the truck. We had a microwave, crockpot, skillet.

Lost my leg, can I still do this?

I had an accident at home about two years ago and my left leg was amputated. I healed just fine and I’m doing good now but I want to get back into trucking. Can I do it since I am missing a leg? Anyone know how I can do this? Thank you!

Thats the clutch leg unless you drive a straight truck short haul or local.

Not everyone understands

Trucking is not a job it’s a lifestyle am I right? Sounds stupid but it’s true. You work long ass hours, see some of the most beautiful sights in the world and some of the worst. You eat bad food on the road but meet good people. To me the road is home, always has been. You shouldn’t truck if you just need a job, because you’re setting yourself up to fail. You truck because you’re ready for a challenge and you want to make a change in your life…

Yeah, but I try to be home as much as possible.
