When you’re out there in today’s market trying to find employment you’re oblivious to others looking right along side of you. It can be intense, frustrating and depressing. Especially when you have a family to care for and bills to pay.

I find stepping back, re-evaluating your skill set and making changes to your key words helps. I recently found an old resume from 14 years ago that showcased skills I hadn’t used in some time and I do plan on... see more

I got into teaching late in my career. And by late I mean late 30's early 40's. I went back to school in 2008 to finish my undergad (was 36 at the time) and told myself I wanted to finish before I was 40. Which I did in 2011. The week after I completed my undergrad I immediately started my Masters in Education Curriculum & Instruction program while working a full time 40 hour a week job AND doing my student teaching all at the same time... see more

I am 68 and have over 30 years office mgr, admin, c/s and dispatching experience with impeccable references and excellent attendance history.

I was never a job hopper and only had 3-4 jobs. I quit my wonderful job when my husband's company moved us to Houston from Dallas. We are now back in the Dallas area. The job did called and wanted me back but I no longer want to work 50-55 hours a week

Just want to say it's really cool yall have this forum where you read other job hunters' stories or advice. Its frustrating and scary job searching when you're unemployed and you know your money is only going to last a few more weeks. Is there anybody here in the Houston area? I'm an accountant and there are hundreds of jobs but seems like 1000 applicants to every job I apply to. I'll get calls and then its like they just forget about me, I think... see more

I have applied for a job with the warehouse at Amazon in Fort Worth. I have passed everything but the background check so far. I know a lot of people have been hired out there. Can you tell me the restrictions for hiring. I have a few misdemeanors back from 2015.

I’ve been searching for employment since relocating to Houston, but I haven’t been called back. Is there any advice someone could give me in regards to what I could do to change this?
