Why I am heading to Washington DC to march.

I can’t believe the video of Jacob Blake

I can’t believe that even in this heightened time and awareness of racial inequities that this happens so blatantly.

I can’t believe that young men are taking to the streets with rifles and shooting protesters.

I can’t believe that a cohort of otherwise reasonable people seem to defend the notion that any of this might somehow be justified.

I do believe we are better than this.

I do understand that many friends or allies will read this and think, “what the heck do you mean you can’t believe? This is there. All the time”. I get it.

I do regret that well intentioned words and empathy feel so seemingly ineffective.

I do not know exactly how to amplify my voice, or leverage what stature or power I may have in saying “ENOUGH!”.
But we begin by marching.

In Boston, but now feel the call to go to the capitol. (first time flying since the pandemic started)

I march for not just me but for my children and grandchildren.

I march for Jobcase and its mission of empowering workers (all workers, all races, all ability levels, all genders.. all).

I march because we must be StrongerTogether. Its time for our generation to keep this country from splitting further apart. Its not too late.

I march in hopes that we can keep this country stitched together and educate young men to other’s perspectives - and not to take up arms

I march for racial justice and the notion that all people are created equal and that this country should be the land of freedom and equal opportunity for all. I march as another step in doing more than just empathizing.

Maybe I’ll see you in DC. With Covid-19 I am sure the numbers will be smaller. But from Doc Rivers, to NBA and WNBA, to Jobcase and hundreds of companies like ours. Enough. Lets halt this wrong-headed violent approach to policing in our Black communities, lets all support our brothers and sisters of color, and lets do everything we can to keep this country together. To make the pain of this 2020 moment into a meaningful acceleration of that historical moral arc bending toward justice. Love not hate. Justice. Equal opportunity. Peace. Freedom. Light.

Here we come DC.

Another reason we like Amazon

Jobcase helps over thousands of people every year get jobs and careers at Amazon. We applauded a couple years ago when they raised min hourly pay to $15/hour, and we likewise applaud their upskilling efforts. Here’s a good - quick- article on it. Good read and important read for any of their employees! #Amazon #upskilling #StrongerTogether https://www.stradaeducation.org/uncategorized/what-role-should-employers-play-in-postsecondary-education/?utm_content=135175838&utm_medium=social&utm_source=linkedin&hss_channel=lcp-61414

Jobcase advocacy runs deep

You may have seen my interviews, op-eds, and advocacy for workers. You may also have seen how we have raised funds and hired new leadership. If you wonder how our values transcend - look no further than this great op-ed by our great CFO @Beth Clymer. We are so proud to have her partnership/leadership and so excited about how we keep attracting amazingly talented people that are dedicated to working to advocate for, and empower YOU! #StrongerTogether #advocacy #stakeholders

How’s it going?

So many in our community are struggling with unemployment. For those employed, life continues to rapidly change in 2020. I think differences in company values may be getting exposed. We cheered when Target increased wages permanently. But I also keep reading of companies that called frontline workers hero’s in May, only to revert to cold processes in August.
This article surfaces some of the tougher circumstances. What’s your experience? Do you have an employer that is doing right by its workers? I’d love to hear about it so we can support worker-friendly employers even more! #StrongerTogether #StillHeroes https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/08/12/grocery-workers-coronavirus/

Getting some fuel to Help Jobcasers!

Jobcase Inc. announced 3 things today. 1) we had an investor buy out a controlling shareholder, 2) we raised some money for growth, and 3) Workday forged a partnership with Jobcase. Here’s why we think this is great news for you:

Punchline: Jobcase’s mission is to empower workers. This has never seemed more urgent than while we face double-digit unemployment where once again those of us who face the most adversity in the best of times are taking the hardest hits in the toughest of times. We need to do better to help one another. Jobcase was built as a place where people help people. So we realized Jobcase needs to do better for you – so we went to find partners who can help us do just that.

Background: What does empowering workers’ mean for you: we want to make it easy for you to have a better tomorrow. We want to provide tools, that make moving around, getting training, getting new jobs easy and successful (and at the moment, hopefully FAST too). We want to support a community platform where strangers love and support each other to figure out that next step, that current problem. With tools and community – the trends that can be daunting for future-of-work can actually be harnessed to help you have an AWESOME future. But its gonna take some effort. No one is in a corner office doing it for you anymore. And few of us have been trained to figure it out ourselves (plus it can be exhausting). But Jobcase is building a platform to make it easy – even fun – and supportive. #StrongerTogether !

Ok – now the announcement.

Part 1: Our new big shareholder LOVES the idea of empowering workers. When I first met them, I knew that the leader was actively supporting veterans in the southwest, and I then learned he and PSG were saving entire villages in Africa with better irrigation and building housing that can protect from wandering rebels that threaten family security, etc. My point – these shareholders walk the walk on caring about people and part of the reason they are investing in Jobcase is they know we do too. And they get that now more than ever we need to support workers. #StrongerTogether!

Part 2: We need to make your experience better. We need to get more relevant communication to you, and we need it to be easier for you to keep your stuff – resume, profile, reviews, training certifications, etc. We need new tools for you – like radars for what opportunities you might not be considering that are open to you with just 1 course, or 1 training module. We need your profile/reviews/records to be easily maintained and updated to show your best self and then make sure it's easy for you to send anywhere you want – employers, schools, even jobcase competitors -it's YOUR data. You should keep it here and be able to freely send it anywhere you choose - and easily. In short – we have a lot more work to do on the product to serve you in the way you deserve. That takes money. We just got some. We are gonna spend it on tools and community building to help you! #StrongerTogether!

Part 3: Workday. Workday is a company that powers the HR and people functions of almost all the biggest companies in the US. They are large, they are very well run, and they are wonderful people who fell in love with our mission of empowering workers. And the cool news is that so many of their employer clients want to help too. The Business Roundtable talked about the importance of Stakeholders – not just shareholders. Bank of America’s CEO just last quarter allocated 1 billion dollars (yes Billion) to help with racial inequality in local communities alone. Target is increasing pay for all hourly workers. Momentum is building on worker advocacy and we strongly believe with Workday we can advocate for workers more effectively, can accelerate making it easier for you to apply and get hired by the 1000 biggest companies in the USA and can help employers flourish as well. It’s an exciting partnership that benefits first – you, second -employers who ‘get’ workers-value. We’ve never had a partner like this and we think it can be wonderful for our members. #StrongerTogether.

So, congrats Jobcasers. Jobcase Inc. employs 158 people headquartered 2 blocks from MIT leveraging cutting edge tech to help you navigate a better tomorrow by managing your own future of work better. We just got a huge shot in the arm that should strengthen our ability to serve you better. It might not be overnight -but you should see a steady drumbeat (and occasional step functions) of cooler tools, better-run communities, more relevant communication, and easier access to great employers. The next 12 months should be transformative. WE are so appreciative of your being part of this community. Of your being on Jobcase. And now we have new funding and partnerships to serve you better. With unemployment in doubledigits it's just in time.

We can all have a better tomorrow. It will be easier if we help one another. Jobcase just got partners and funding to build a platform that will do just that. Congratulations. And Stay tuned for what comes next!

Millennials’ tough timing

We talk a decent amount about the difficulties of ageism and how to circumnavigate it; but we don’t often talk of the challenges our millennium generation face. I think it’s a great gen that seems to be dealt tough hands time and time again.
Good read here. Does this sound familiar to you too? #StrongerTogether #millenial

First off...here's my op-ed and what I can say on the matter in short....The SARS CoV-1 aka CoronaVirus is destroyed by colloidal or nano-particle silver.. They've known this since 2003. Over 100 research reports confirm this. Now...This 'novel' strain...ie. nCov2 was brought about at a Level4 lab in Wuhan,China. The Chief virologist there...Dr Shi Z. Li, was contracted to research and collect the corona virus from the horseshoe bat and prepare it for the next phase, pending. A second payment of $3.7mil was reportedly initiated by the Institute of Allergies and infectious Diseases, via one, Dr Anthony Fauci, with the blessings of the NIH and likely the knowledge of the WHO. The second phase of the research was to insure the corona virus samples were to be able to transfer to human beings and infect the human respiratory system, which was the stated goal, per reports. Dr Fauci was reportedly warned about the dangers involved, if this novel 'variant' of the corona virus were to escape the lab. As we all know, It did and here we are chasing our tails. Dr Fauci in the months after and shortly after President Trump became President, warned in a public interview, that President Trump would have to deal with a Pandemic during his administration. I find this very interesting, to say the least. How would he have known, unless......?
This 'novel form' of the original Corona virus is likely destroyed by micro or nano-particle colloidal silver as well. This virus has roots and is found in felines, and other animals around the world. In fact, the Corona Virus is patented. Its patented in the UK.. just as Ebola is patented by the US. Reportedly, No one can work on these patented microbes, unless they deal with the patent holders first. They control all aspects and any further developments or work done with them, by third parties. As for this lab developed 'novel' form of the Corona virus and, will it change...? I suppose, It depends on which Experts you talk to. It may be around a while like the influenza bug or it could peter-out or it could become more potent IF, someone in a lab somewhere, starts playing with it again, creating a more powerful strain. Right now, it can be controlled & Killed with a long known and powerful anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-parasite natural product...Colloidal Silver. The powers that be cannot make any real money on a this natural mineral, and so, all the money bets are on a lab made vaccine, which will make the Drug companies BILLIONS and hopefully, they won't force it on us, as some suspect they will. There lies the real potential danger in my opinion. That's my unprofessional take on it and whatever source of this, may 'otherwise' be, I and millions of others remain very angry and suspicious of how this pandemic is being handled to date. The Medical Establishments handling of this, doesn't pass the smell test and certain MDs and researchers need to be investigated. Millions have lost their livelihoods, jobs and thousands of have lost their lives to this lab created bug and the Public wants answers and heads to roll, per my observations. Governors and their minions mistakes are only compounding the problems The public's fuse is getting very short, with their Rights Being Violated on a regular basis. Semper Paratus.
