What is the usual payment arrangement for a medical social worker?

I am wondering what other medical social workers have as payment arrangements with their companies.

I lost my job of 17 years in social work. last year (The job was in Kentucky) Now I can't pass DCS background checks in Indiana which are part of most jobs in social work. These laws need to change. My felony ( happened in Florida and cannot be expunged).... is 30 years old! Help.

I work for the state of Indiana in the re-entry field. If you go to the workone in Madison, or whichever one is in you county, ask for the HIRE coordinator. They specialize in helping clients with indiscretions on their record. GOOD LUCK!

Community and social services

Does anyone know who would hire without a degree in community services or some type of social work. I've been in retail management for over 14 years. Great money but now I want something to do with making a difference in the world. Whether it's helping someone study for their G.E.D, look for a job, insurance, community work, working with children as long as it's positive and fulfilling. Let me know!! Email: kwash8159@gmail.com

Thank you

Hi Kel: I think it's so awesome you have a passion and dedication to helping others!! Have you every thought about doing home healthcare or driving for nursing homes/the elderly? These are great jobs that don't require a traditional degree, but you'll 100% make a difference in the lives of others. Just a few ideas off the top of my head!

Any ideas out there......

I have a Degree in Family Studies that does not give you a professional license. E very where I look for any social work job you need a license, and only a Social Work degree will allow you to get one. Does anyone have a job out there with a Family Studies degree? I am being forced to go back to school and get the Social Work degree to obtain the license so that I can get a job.

Some states do offer an LMFT-- licensed marriage and family therapist. It is a master's level licensure. Is your degree a master's degree? If not, even in social work, you would be limited without the master's degree.

I was fired from my job of 17 years last year as a type of social worker. My mother died last year, I had a stalker and I was diagnosed with type II diabetes. I am 58 with no degree. I also have a 30 year old felony ( a felony that cannot be expunged). It has kept me from many decent paying jobs. Its been a long hard road. I finally found something, not in social work, but a job. It doesn't pay well, I have a 40 minute drive, but good benefits. Here's to a new year and a new start. My question is any tips?
