I'm working for a company that constantly points out any flaws and is trying to push me away from my job. I'm stuck between deciding on if I should resign from the position and put in my two weeks notice before they decide that they want to fire me from the job altogether. I am hurt because I have put so much of my time and energy in to being the best kind of employee for the company and knowing that they have other motives. Please give me some... see more

Hello community, the more time I spend around the topic of ageism the more, frustrated, disheartened and even angered I get. My passion on Jobcase is sharing any discoveries, tips, and strategies I use personally or come across so we can all take individual action toward personal success, however, I can't help but think we have to do something more.

Here is what I know: I know for sure the Jobcase staff is fully aware of this issue and actively... see more

Why can they not have to give me a reason? I had my evaluation 2 days before hand with my foreman. Everything was good.

Check with your State. If it’s an at will non-union job....they don’t need to provide a reason.

I have been at my job now for almost 2 years and the only person above me is the owner so needless to say there is not any room for advancement. I just finished working 53 days in a row without a day off. I am in the hotel industry. Today I spoke to my boss regarding that out of over 4000 hotels in this chain we are some of the lowest paid. I mean I had to ride him for 8 months to get my 90 day review, which I should have never let happen. I... see more

The last thing you want to do is accept the wrong job and bosses don't want to hire people who won't stick around.

Here is what you can ask to see if it's the right match.

How would you describe your management style?
You could also rephrase this as Talk to me about the employees you most love leading?
or What type of team do you like to run?
A thoughtful answer will tell you that they prepared for the question.

(Just so you know, I've... see more

Great job. Always like questions to add. And change the wording to make them more succinct.

A lateral move in your company/career makes sense when a promotion is not an option but could end up being the best move you can make.

Sometimes your career does not move forward. Perhaps, you are ready for the promotion but there's no opening at your company, and you have not succeeded in making the move to someplace else.

This is where lateral moves come into play. Something that many people are wary of doing. It can feel like a failure or... see more

So I got a written warning on Friday because my employer claims I falsified time keeping. Here’s what happened, I was working a double, about 17 1/2 hours. I told a coworker I was taking my lunch break and went into my car which was in the driveway (I work in clients home). I did not leave and told my coworker to let me know if she needed me. I spent an hour outside then went back in. My employer claims that I left the grounds and took an... see more
