Should I ask for a raise?

I hope this doesn't seem insensitive because I know most of you are searching for work. Believe me, I was in your shoes not so long ago and I remember the agony and heartache but I need opinions. I can't post to Facebook because I broke my own rules about not friending people at work. So...

In April of this year my position was eliminated due to down sizing and I have been focused everyday like I am going to work to find that next career opportunity. I have been in the Consumer Products Industry for over 30 years and have a lot of knowledge and expertise to bring either a small or medium sized company. In October I turned 60,but I am no where ready to retire. I have another 10 to 15 years of contributing to growing the business for…

Simple Jobseeker

Upon reaching 60 years of my age I was let go for some fabricated issues after I came back from 2 weeks FMLA by the Company that I helped and worked for 9 long years. New management and HR don't care about anyone as long as they show off to the Company that they make their own re-organization and bring all their friends and acquaintances from their previous employers. 'Love to hear or see them experience the same predicament when the Company…

Older job seekers

I am 67 years old, but have been working outside the home, off and on, for over 30 years. For the last five years, I have been both a counselor and a teacher at a private middle school in New Haven, CT., working with underserved children in New Haven. Because it was time for a change, I decided to look for a position involving Counseling and or Social Work, either full or part-time. I have raised four children, and now have three beautiful…
