Two truckers share their stories

Meet Nailah and Martin!

Two different people who truly love what they do, which is driving a truck.

Sometimes in life, you need to think outside of the box.

When a friend suggested that Nailah attend truck driving school she stood in front of her in high heels and a dress and thought NO way was this for her. Today she happily says, “I am in a place where I don’t have to want for anything. I am happy. I don’t have bill collectors calling me…

Well I know it is not for me but I am grateful for those who is in the business.

Starting something very Different Boomerang!

I spent 39 years working in Corporate America. I have a confession, I liked working behind the scenes.
But I have decided to do something totally different. I am starting to drive as a 1099 employee aka self-employed.
Driving Part time for BOOMERANG. Who are they? Well they hire people to drive their own cars to take people who are on WC to medical Dr. Appointments., and or PT appointments. It is strictly part-time. There was video training…

Best Wishes !

I have the opportunity to work in a law firm but not certain about that cause I am not a go get this n grab my lunch type of girl.

End of The Line

So, I am one of those 'older folks' who worked for a large corporation for nearly 20 years only to be cut due to downsizing. Since this happened a few years back I have been through two other downsizing's at companies, I worked at one for a year and another less than 6 months. I've been passed over so many times for jobs, losing out to younger folk it's ridiculous. You mention to someone you think age plays a factor and they look at you like you…

Same situation happened to me. So I understand exactly how you feel. It is tough. It took me a long time to accept the situation.

Private Transportation/Driver/Courier

It is difficult for a woman to get a business up and running. Well for me it seems impossible. I'm 47, going through a nasty divorce and trying to improve my credit score. My driving record is great. I'm an attentive listener and conversationalist. I believe in my business choice. Networking is a must and I'm not able to get out and do that much. Always thinking about alternatives to loans and grants since I've had no luck with…

My advice to people interested in working at #SwiftTransportation as a #Driver ...

They will put you in positions to get yourself hurt and then fire you during workmans comp for something else. They don't care about the workers.

Thanks Mikel for making people aware of this

Working Again

I love my new job! No complaints, but it is part time, so now that I'm settled in, I am again looking for work. It's not the same of course, I'm not desperate, broke, and totally lost all of my confidence. But , it is still very important, and right now I am waiting for my background check to come back from the company that is defiantly my first choice for a second job, but it seems like its been forever, and I haven't heard anything. So…

Hi Erin Schultz -- Congratulations on the new job! Continue to look for a second job while you wait a few more days on the…

45-62? Having trouble landing a job? Sound off.

Yep, the more I talk to people between the ages of 45 and 62, the more I realize if you have been laid off you are screwed, pardon my french. The real ass kicker for me came this week when I found out a major corporation hired a 2018 college grad with virtually no experience over me with my 30 years in our business. Not sure what to do but I refuse to drive for uber and lyft at this stage of the game. Are you in the above mentioned age group and…
