I’m really feeling down due to job searching and searching for something that I would like to do and when I do find something that I would be interested in, they “prefer a bachelor’s degree”. I can’t afford to go to school to get a bachelor’s degree and all the jobs that require or prefer some sort of degree, I could just be trained on and do a good job at it. It’s ridiculous and frustrating!

Go ahead and apply; If they say preferred then it is not an absolute requirement. One thing you might do is... see more

I am in a mid life crisis. I am currently a retail merchandise manager, formerly the General Manager of Sonic Drive In. I am 26 years old and I think I want to go back to school, I genuinely no longer want to manage others but would like to make the same salary as my intro and the opportunity for growth! I am currently around 58K+. Help! What do I go to school for and how do I manage my time to do so. I will also be putting myself in debt with... see more

Trying to get a better paying job with limited skills is frustrating. The hard and soft skills I’ve acquired working in the retail industry over the last 5 years has an average value of no more than $14 p/h to companies doing the hiring. I’m in my early thirties right now and my biggest fear is not being able to move the dial fast enough on earning a higher salary if I stay stuck in the retail industry for another 5yrs.

It is a truly disappointing job market. I've had lots of jobs since I was fired for one simple mispunch. I was making 25/hr with a career of 18 years in heavy equipment operations. Now I can only get 15/hr at best and they treat me like dog ****. I can't find a decent job. There are lots of straight labor jobs but I'm getting old and I'm a single parent of two children. I've had it with this 3 month long pursuit. Taking jobs left and right where... see more
