I recently received an invitation for a job interview as a part time Administrative Assistant. I retired from college teaching in December of 2017 and have been doing other things since then. If they ask why did you leave your last position, what is the best answer I should give them?

Something like:
I retired from academia about two years ago. I've found out it just isn't for me and when I saw... see more

Just curious to know if anyone has worked a contract job in an administrative role in another state. What was your experience like? Did they provide some type of housing or stipend? Did your assignment last as long as stated? Any advice that you wish you would have know before accepting the position?

Gloria. What you are talking about is relocating/ and you do get housing allowances.

Any position working there is great!! I would seek employment again if I was physically able and hadn't moved 2.5 hours away!!! He's a great, fair boss!!!

making a complaint about a friend of his who was working there. I don't remember if I quit or he let me go but we have remained friends. He also did 4 or 5 of my back surgeries. He put me on disability because of all the back surgeries and other serious health issues. He went to court with me and his assistance ensured that I was awarded the disability.

She was interested in me and asked for my resume I sent it to... see more

I've applied for hundreds of positions, from office administration to retail. Most of my applications were rejected, ignored, or claimed to be already filled or canceled.

I know there are others who go years without finding work and it's only been nine months since I started job hunting, but I cannot take this anymore. I cannot take these recruiters ignoring me, calling me and claiming they can offer me a job only to never call me again. I... see more
