On-demand work and scheduling flexibility

Postmates couriers are classified as independent contractors. As a gig worker, one of the largest benefits is the ability to work on-demand (whenever you, as the worker, "want" to work). The courier sets their own schedule and is in control of when and how often they accept work.

Medical and health

Postmates partners with Stride Health, an insurance coverage company, that connects individuals with health plans covered under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Stride Health acts as the liaison between you (the worker) and a medical insurance provider with options that are both affordable and robust. A personalized ACA plan is recommended at the lowest price possible with year-round customer support.

Health Savings Account

Starship Health Savings Account (HSA): Currently used by over 15,000 Postmates employees, this tax-free HSA helps minimize your health costs, payments, and co-payments, and can be used for eligible expenses.

Dental

Postmates couriers are able to use the selected plan just one month after enrollment at over 300,000 locations nationwide. 100% of all dental cleanings and regular check-ups are covered.

Vision

Couriers are able to use the selected plan just one month after enrollment at over 84,000 locations nationwide. Contact lens or glasses are $120 under this plan.

Taxes

Being an independent contractor may result in more complex tax filings, so through it's partner, Postmates uses a Mileage and Tax Tracker App to automatically track all miles and expenses during delivery gigs to help ensure filing your annual taxes is as seamless and as stress-free as possible.

Career advancement and education

Postmates recognizes that many of it's couriers are looking for full-time work beyond gig work. They have partnered with numerous organizations to help its fleet workers be placed in full-time employment.

Online learning from Edx.org

Edx.org is an online learning destination that provides free online college-level courses to eligible and select applicants. Many of the courses include subjects like computer science, programming, coding, project management, justice and social responsibility, and entrepreneurship and business.

Job search accelerator program

Available to San Francisco Fleet Team members who have completed 10 deliveries, this two-week, 36-hour intensive program is designed to help those achieve full-time, long-term career goals. The curriculum is centered on readying students with the necessary skills and development to secure high-growth career employment.
