FedEx Ground Warehouse Positions
FedEx Ground Package Handler
Working Hours:
Full-time employees work approximately two shifts per day of varying lengths
Part-time employees typically work a 2-4-hour shift per day
Wage Rates:
$16.00/hour base on preload morning shift and midnight shifts
$15.50/hour for mid-day and early evening shifts
An extra $1.00/hour for full-time
Responsibilities include:
Physical loading, unloading and/or sorting of packages of varying sizes and weights by hand
Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, placing packages, as well as physical bending, twisting, kneeling and etc. in a safe and efficient manner
Shifts may vary depending on warehouse package volume and business needs
Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required
FedEx Ground Switcher
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the movement of trailers to and from the unload / load doors and throughout the yard
May also be responsible for the physical loading, unloading and/or sorting of packages by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying and placing, in a safe and efficient manner
Job Requirements:
Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
No experience required; six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred
FedEx Ground Operations Manager
This is a frontline manager position that supports the FedEx Ground (FXG) Safety Above All Culture and manages specific day-to-day operations and an assigned staff within a station or hub. Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient package sorting through the management of Package Handlers.
The Operations Manager may also manage administrative employees and functions and ensures administrative processes are compliant with FXG policies and procedures and governmental regulations.
Management responsibilities include:
Hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and management, discipline, addressing employee concerns and staff productivity
Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls specific day-to-day operations within the station or hub
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or a related area preferred
Minimum Experience:
- Six (6) months package handler, FedEx Ground field or related experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or a related area is accepted in lieu of required experience
