Delivery Driver

Do you have a reliable car? Do you like driving? There are plenty of jobs available delivering food, flowers, packages, and anything else that is delivered directly to a customer’s front door. The salary will vary widely based on how many hours you work, but the best part is you can work whenever you want and be your own boss. Check out Instacart, GrubHub, Doordash, UberEats, and Postmates to get started!

Customer Service

If you like helping people, troubleshooting problems, and solving issues, a job in customer service might be perfect for you! There are many different roles available, and many customer service jobs involve online work so you can work from home. The schedule is generally flexible as well. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that customer service representatives earn an average hourly pay of $16.23, but some customer service jobs pay as high as $20 per hour. Concentrix and Adecco are two great places to get started!

Data Entry

Data entry is another job that can be done either online or on-site. You’ll need to be able to type quickly and accurately. For some jobs, you’ll need specialized skills like possessing knowledge of legal or medical terminology as well as reliable internet access and a computer (some jobs will provide this). The typical hourly wage of around $15. Search for data entry jobs hiring now to get started.

Freelance Work

Freelancing is a GREAT way to use the skills you have already developed to boost your earnings. There are many employers who don’t want to commit to adding another employee to the payroll, but are willing to hire someone on an as-needed basis. You can work as much or as little as you want. If you’re not sure what you could do, browse the job postings on Upwork or Outsourcely to get some ideas. Your earnings depend on location and how often you drive. but in general, between $10 and $25 per hour on average.

Retail

When you think about what makes a job easy, also think about what makes a job fun. Working for a huge mainstream retailer might not be your idea of a great job, but there are small local companies that could be an option. Think bookstore if you’re a book lover, pet store if you’re a pet lover, liquor store if you’re a wine connoisseur, or hardware store if you’re handy. Some of the best hourly retail jobs pay between $9 and $25 an hour. Target offers VERY flexible hours and it's a great place to get started!

Private Tutor

If you’re a college student or teacher, tutoring jobs in your area of expertise are a way to make extra money without a long-term commitment. Restaurant Host/Hostess

Working as a waiter or waitress is a common second job, but a host or hostess job tends to be much easier on your schedule and time. If you’re outgoing and friendly, can manage the guest flow if the restaurant doesn’t take reservations, and can juggle phone calls while you’re doing other tasks, this is an option to consider. These jobs earn an average hourly wage of $9.39, according to Glassdoor. Search for restaurant host or hostess jobs hiring now to get started.

Test Proctor

Get paid for protecting tests like the SATs! The best part is that NO experience is necessary and you are able to just sit and read a book or go on your cellphone while the students take the tests. Note that some exams are offered on evenings and weekends, while others are online. Test proctors check identification, monitor the testing environment, report irregularities, and complete simple testing paperwork. On average, a test proctor earns around $25,000 per year, according to Glassdoor. Search for test proctor jobs hiring now to get started.

So the sites that link redirects to are pretty sketchy, by clicking "I agree" you are agreeing to allow all their partners to send you texts. Stick to legitimate sites such as ziprecruiter and indeed.

I would be interested in the retail part time position. Just concerned about my age (67). Am I still qualified for the type of work they have in mind?
