How to be successful working from home
For some, working from home is a dream come true and for others who are used to the hustle and bustle of the office, it can be quite an adjustment! So whether you are looking to work from home or are currently doing so check out the best ways to be successful as well as some roles hiring right now.
Find your space
Where do you want this to be? The key to an effective home office is to make use of whatever space you have, whether it's a large closet, a spare bedroom, or an unused corner of your living room. Just make sure to chose a space that you will use JUST for work and nothing else during that part of the day. This will allow you to focus and accomplish more tasks.
Get the tools you need
Make sure you have a strong Wi-Fi connection, a computer that meets your current needs (this will vary greatly depending on your job), and a reliable cellphone as well as download any programs the company requires.
Set boundaries
It's likely that others will be home during this time of social distancing, so make sure to let them know that although you are home you are working. Close the door and ensure your space is private and uninterrupted. You could even consider putting a sign on the door to let others know what is going on so they don't disturb you.
Customize your workspace
Instead of buying new furniture or decorations check out what you already have in other parts of your home that you can add to your new office. Grab some photos or your favorite comfy chair and move them over. Whatever makes the space feel comfortable and productive while still being organized is key!
