There are various federal programs available that are designed to support those who are struggling to make ends meet. Some of these benefits are federally-funded and issued through a state, where others are issued directly to individuals and families.

Government food and nutrition programs
Food Stamps (SNAP)
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the most extensive federal nutrition assistance program. SNAP provides benefits to eligible individuals and families through an EBT card that is used to purchase eligible food in authorized food stores.

Women and Infant Children (WIC)

Food pantries are non-profit organizations that function to provide food to local communities.

Government utility assistance programs
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
This program provides grant funds to states to provide families with financial assistance and other support services such as childcare, job preparation, and work assistance.

Housing Choice Voucher Program (Formerly Section 8)
This program is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and helps pay rent for low-income families, the elderly, or those with a disability. Find your Local Public Housing Agency (PHA) to determine eligibility.

Government childcare programs
The Child Care and Development Fund
The Child Care and Development Fund can ease the burden of childcare costs for low-income families. This fund administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is income-based and usually covers the cost of childcare for children under the age of 13. Haven't had a unemployment paymeny since December they appoved us but husbands id expired so can't verify his identity DMV booked till march 18th and will have lost home and everything else by then. Have run out of almost everything right now and not even a penny in our account. And no relief in sight. Using coats as blankets because we can't afford to do laundry.
My fiancé has been waiting for her unemployment benefits for over a month now. She has received nothing in the past month and we need to pay for bills, food, etc. please help us claim the benefits she is entitled too. We are in desperate need of this money!
All these resources are great except we make too much money to qualify for any of them. How can you tell some out hat with out looking at the whole picture. My outgo is more than my income.. I don’t have credit cards, don’t spend money on anything frivolous and we still struggle. Karen

I would like corona virus unemployment info
It's been 18 weeks and I still haven't received any benefits even though it says active and I have benefits in account of 6000$ I will be evicted after tomorrow and have no place to go . I'm stuck in red tape with out help due to living in GA but working in TN. Everyone passes the buck to the other and i still haven't gotten any help and can't reach anyone at unemployment to tell me something I will be homeless with out address or anything and can't even get senator to respond to my call for help. What can I do ? I have no family to help . who can I call I need to know it's emergency . I was homeless before I got my place in not built to live on streets . I've worked my entire life and never drawn unemployment how can they ignore my claim ? My work shut down do to vivid and still remains closed. Please can anyone help me????
