Stockers make around $13.00 an hour, and order selectors make $18.00 per hour.

Retail store managers make between $13.00 and $26.00 an hour, and full-time assistant store managers make an average of $20.00 per hour.

Senior members of the management team make more than hourly employees. For example, an ALDI district manager can make $88,462 per year.

ALDI often promotes from within. This means you can start as an hourly associate and work your way up to a full-time store manager position.

1. Store assistant

ALDI store associates make sure it's a positive customer shopping experience.

These workers perform a number of general duties, depending on what's required on the shift. For example, they stock shelves and make sure products are put back in the right place.

Store associates can serve customers at the checkout and process sales via cash or credit card. They help shoppers find what they're looking for and answer any questions.

Store associates keep the store clean and tidy.

These team members need excellent communication skills. They need to be organized and reliable and have good time management skills.

2. Stocker

Stockers are responsible for stocking products in ALDI stores. They fill shelves and check that the produce is fresh.

Stockers set up merchandise displays and make sure the aisles are clean and tidy. They open and break down boxes and use equipment and machinery.

Products can weigh up to 45 pounds, so stockers need to be physically fit. Some lifting is required, and the role can involve long hours on your feet.

3. Cashier

ALDI cashiers serve customers and process cash and credit card payments. They make sure the cash register is working correctly, and if they have any issues, they report them to the assistant store manager.

4. Warehouse maintenance worker

Warehouse maintenance workers are responsible for preventative maintenance.

They perform routine maintenance inside and outside the warehouse. For example, they change globes, repair walls, and do basic plumbing tasks.

Warehouse maintenance workers make sure the workspace is clean and safe. If someone notices a maintenance issue, they’ll call this team member to find a solution.

Maintenance workers create a maintenance schedule and keep clear notes.

The job can involve heavy lifting, bending, and stretching. You’ll need to be physically fit with good manual dexterity.

5. Assistant store manager

Assistant store managers play an important role in ALDI stores. They’re responsible for leadership duties, and they make sure the store processes are running smoothly.

They supervise staff and manage rosters. If there are new team members, the assistant store manager will help to train them.

7. Warehouse associate

Once you've gone through the online application process, the waiting begins. It can take up to two weeks before you hear back from ALDI.

If your application is successful, you'll be invited to an interview. The first interview is usually in person, but sometimes, it's over the phone. There can be multiple interviews before you get the job.

Does ALDI do a background check?

Yes. If you get through the ALDI interview process, you'll need a background check before you can start work.

The background check goes back at least seven years. The company looks at different areas depending on the job title.

For most positions, ALDI will verify your employment history and education. They'll also check your references.

Next, there's a criminal background check. There'll be a report with any felonies or misdemeanors from your past. ALDI can use this information to decide if you'll be a risk in the workplace.

For some positions, ALDI may do a driving record check and a credit check.
