What does the job require?

Is a gig job more your speed? There are tons of gig-work options you can try to deliver food and goods to customers, all on your own time. Gig work services like DoorDash, Uber Eats and Postmates allow their drivers to quickly start making cash and tips from delivering food in their local area. Drivers are expected to pick up orders made by customers and then drive those orders to the customer in a timely manner. Drivers can work whenever best suits their schedule.

How can I qualify?

Qualifying to be a gig delivery driver is pretty simple. What you’ll need is to have an insured car, a valid driver’s license and be over age 18-21, depending on the gig service you’re using.

Deliver packages on your own time with Amazon Flex

What does the job require?

Amazon Flex is a delivery partner system that allows anyone to deliver packages using their car and an app on their phone. You can sign up to deliver through Amazon Flex using their Amazon Flex app.

To get started simply open the Flex app and claim an open shift, which schedules you to deliver during that time. Delivery partners are expected to ensure successful delivery by scanning and/or photographing the delivered packages and notifying the package recipient.

How can I qualify?

To qualify for Amazon Flex you must live in a participating metro area, be over 21, have an insured car and a valid driver’s license.

Promote company brands as a freelance social media manager

What does the job require?

Does every social media post you touch turn to gold? If so, you could be a great fit as a social media manager. This job would require you to plan and write posts that would best represent a brand or business and think creatively about how to best market the related services through social media. Since social media posts can often be planned ahead of time, you can plan to work when you can as long as you plan your time effectively!

How can I qualify?

While it helps to have either a Marketing degree or a lot of knowledge and passion for social media to begin as a social media manager, there is no set certification required to start.

What you should absolutely have if you want to become a social media manager is a proven track record of growing a social media following, which could be demonstrated in your own personal accounts if you’re an avid social media user already.

Online tax filing services like TurboTax now offer part-time remote commitments to tax advisors that allow them to work short or weekend shifts around their own schedule.

How can I qualify?

If you’re not a tax expert yet, you could be expected to get certified as a tax advisor/preparer to be qualified, though it's not always required. Qualification could take as little as a few months or a few years, depending on the course you select.
